Dr. Pantalone received his Ph.D in 1995, in Plant Breeding and Genetics, from North Carolina State University. He received his M.S. in 1991 in Agronomy from the University of Maryland.
Dr. Pantalone's research program emphasizes applied, field-oriented and molecular genetics research targeting the development of improved soybean cultivars. Program objectives include breeding for increased yield, tolerance to plant diseases, nematodes, environmental stresses, enhanced protein quality and concentration, and modified fatty acid composition for improved human and animal nutrition.
Dr. Pantalone teaches a graduate course entitled Plant Breeding Technologies.
